Post-surgery recovery care

Most surgical recoveries need help for a few weeks, not forever. Someone to manage the first shower, keep the household running and make sure the therapy exercises actually get done.

Short-term care is genuinely short-term with us. We will schedule around your therapy visits and step the hours down as you get stronger, rather than leaving you on a plan you have outgrown.

What is included

• Help with bathing while restrictions apply
• Support with mobility and weight-bearing limits
• Encouragement with therapy exercises
• Meals, laundry and housekeeping
• Medication reminders including pain schedules
• Watching the incision area and reporting concerns
• Rides to follow-up appointments
• Hours that reduce as recovery progresses

Commonly after

• Hip or knee replacement
• Cardiac surgery or a cardiac event
• Abdominal or back surgery
• A fracture repair
• Any procedure where someone lives alone

Two to six weeks is typical. Many long-term care policies and some Medicare Advantage plans will cover a recovery period like this.
