Private duty home care

Private duty home care means you are arranging and paying for care directly, rather than waiting for an insurer or a waiver programme to authorize it. It is also called private pay, private care or hiring a private caregiver.

The advantage is speed and control. There is no authorization to wait for, no approved number of hours, and no restriction on what the caregiver may help with. You decide the schedule, and you can change it whenever you want.
